Two months ago, Boosie Badazz faced major backlash for comments he made about Dwyane Wade’s 12-year-old daughter, Zaya, after she came out as transgender. Now, the Baton Rouge, La. rapper continues to stand behind his statements and doesn’t feel the need to apologize.

During an interview with The Breakfast Club on Monday (April 13), Boosie claimed that “they” reached out to him to attempt a meeting with Jay-Z for Boosie to apologize, but Boosie declined. “Nah, they already tried to do that. They was trying to hook up some shit with a meeting,” Boosie said when asked if he thought he should apologize to the Wade family around the 8:57-mark. “They say Jay-Z was gonna get him on the phone and all that shit. I need to apologize to save this and save that.”

Boosie then doubled down on his statements, saying that he saw nothing wrong with what he said. “Hey, tell Jay-Z I don’t wanna talk,” he added. “I’m not apologizing for shit. I don’t give a fuck if Jesus calling to get me to apologize. I said what I said, man. I felt that was right.”

Back in February, the rapper went on IG Live and shared his thoughts on Dwyane Wade supporting his daughter’s decision to identify as transgender. “I gotta say something about this shit, bro,” Boosie said in the video. “Dwyane Wade, you gone too fucking far, dawg. That is a male. A 12-year-old. At 12, they don’t even know what they next meal is gonna be. They don’t have shit figured out yet. He might meet a woman, anything, at 16 and fall in love with her. But his dick be gone. How he gon’… like, bruh, you going too far, dawg.”

Boosie’s transphobic rant continued, further criticizing Wade’s support for Zaya. “Don’t cut his dick off, bruh,” he said. “Like, bruh, for real, if he gon’ be gay, let him be gay. But don’t cut his dick off, bruh. Don’t. And dress him as a woman, dawg. He’s 12 years old. He’s not up there yet. He hasn’t made his final decisions yet. Don’t cut his fucking dick off, Dwyane Wade, bruh. You fucking trippin’, dawg. You trippin’ dawg. You trippin’ dawg.”

Days later, despite Boosie’s refusal to apologize, the rapper admitted that his own mother scolded him over his unsolicited opinion. While speaking in an interview, Boosie said his mom told him to stay off social media and to stay out of other people’s business.
