Britney Spears is kicking it old school. On Monday (May 10), the 39-year-old pop icon posted a throwback to her teen queen years in the form of a montage featuring colorful, belly-bearing outfits from the early 2000s along with a message about the days before we became obsessed with our phones.
“Bringing it back to the 2000s when everything was simpler before social media !!!! Should I bring these outfits back ????,” Spears asked her fans. The quick-cut video features Spears sharing the stage with Michael Jackson while wearing a snakeskin-like mini dress, holding a bikini in one hand while rocking shredded jean shorts and a barely-there belly shirt tank top, an ensemble featuring a hot pink skirt, electric blue shirt and lime green newsboy cap and a gauzy black dress.
Also, she noted that she copied actress Reese Witherspoon on the post, which was cued to Mariah Carey’s “Fantasy”; at press time it did not appear that Witherspoon had responded. Other outfits include Spears in a black fedora, silver bowtie necklace, tiny black miniskirt and an off-the-shoulder Page Six half shirt and a truly early millennium classic frilly red t-shirt top matched with jeans overlaid with hot pink chaps.
A short time later, Spears also posted some stills and her latest dancing video, in which she grooves to N.E.R.D.’s “She Wants To Move” in a full-body leopard print bodysuit while flipping her pink hair around. “Miss pussycat loves to bite,” she captioned the snaps. “… be careful ladies and gentlemen.”
