The Kid is back, and he’s a proper grown up. Kid Cudi returns with “Leader of the Delinquents,” lifted from his forthcoming seventh studio album Entergalactic.
It’s the Grammy Award-winning hip-hop artist’s first solo music since his 2018 collaboration with Kanye West, Kids See Ghosts, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 albums chart.
“Leader of the Delinquents” marks Cudi’s first solo music since 2016’s Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin’, which peaked at No. 11 on the Billboard 200.
The new tune has a heavy vibe, over which the Cleveland rapper rhymes on today’s world, drugs and mental health. He opens, “Hello friends, Cudder again/ Gotta smack ’em with some shit before the world ends/ Same old denims, worn for days/ I been home makin’ jams and many wonderful waves.”
“Leader of the Delinquents” dropped at midnight via Republic Records. There’s no word on a release date for Entergalactic.
