The singer performed “Wake Up Everybody” by Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes and “Never Break” and shared an impassioned speech in Philadelphia on Monday night during the final Joe Biden and Kamala Harris rally. He dedicated the last song to his wife Chrissy Teigen, who made her first public appearance with their children Luna and Miles after their devastating pregnancy loss in late September.
“So yes, we’ve lost a lot,” Legend said behind a piano while reflecting on the coronavirus pandemic and recent police shooting of Philly native Walter Wallace, Jr. “But Philadelphia, what we haven’t lost is our ability to decide what happens next. In this election, your vote will decide whether we’re a country that allows this pandemic to continue indefinitely or one with a plan to end it.”
